The main objective of the project “Online Ecotourism Guide” of the Business Support Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises in Ruse is the development of a methodology for the preservation of the biodiversity in the Danube regions of Bulgaria and Romania. Its partners are the Human Resources Development Agency (HRDA) in Ruse, Municipality of Elena and the Association for Ecotourism in Romania (AER). The project has started in July 2012 and will last for 12 months with a total budget of 38 680 euro where the Danube Competence Center provides 80% of the funds.
The main activities of the project “Online Ecotourism Guide” are: creation of the modules for the online ecotourism guide, testing the guide, dissemination of good practices
The project aims to:
- Support biodiversity of the Danube regions of Bulgaria and Romania
- Increase the tourism competitiveness and attractiveness in the Danube regions
- Improve local capacities for sustainable tourism management
- Educate local tourism private stakeholders
- Maximise the positive tourism impacts on the environment, economy and culture
